Consuelo "Connie" Morales

Consuelo C. Morales, known by many as Connie, passed away February 9, 2025 at the age of 99. She was born October 25, 1925 in Wharton Texas to the late Seferino de la Cruz and Eulalia Cavasos Cruz.

She was the matriarch of the family of 15 children. She was a strong , loving and caring person for all her children. She was a very special person in the hearts of all her children for 99 years. She loved flowers, bingo, dancing or just going riding around with Dr. Pepper, Coke and a bag of potato chips. She enjoyed her ride until it was time to go home.

Along with her husband, Claudio Morales, were the owners of Zarape Bar for 35 years in Eagle Lake. They were sponsors of the Fort Bend County Trail Ride and the San Antonio Vaqueros. There were many great times during their years in business. They then started going to Bingo more often and spending time with family. Connie’s sweet voice, her laugh and her calling just to check on everyone will be greatly missed. Thank you Mama for our life, for your word of hope, which gave us strength and love that makes our lives meaningful. Our Mother Queen of Queens, we will never have somebody love us the way you did.

Connie leaves behind her children; Larry Morales, Roy (Jackie) of Eagle Lake, Gloria Hernandez of Rosenberg, Stella (Victor) Espinoza of Eagle Lake , Yolanda and late husband Pete Munoz of Louise, Terry Morales of Rosenberg, Brenda (Elias) Zapata of Richmond, Bertha (Ricky) Gonzales of Eagle Lake, Andy (Balinda) Morales of Eagle Lake, Danny (Joyce) Morales of California, Linda Morales of Houston, John (Jen) Morales of Eagle Lake and Rebecca Morales of Eagle Lake. She was also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claudio; daughters, Chris Villarreal and Mary Morales, grandson, Thomas Munoz and granddaughter, Sarah Lynn Sosa.

Serving as pallbearers will be Victor Espinoza, Orlando Morales, Ricardo Gonzalez, Jr. , Marty Cantu, John Morales, Jr. and Sebastian Munoz.

Family and friends visitation will be from 5 until 7 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Eagle Lake Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm. Funeral mass will be at 2 PM on Friday, February 14, at Parish of the Nativity Catholic Church with burial to follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
