Erline A. Listowski, 98, of Eagle Lake, Tx. passed away February 15, 2021 at Deer Creek of Wimberly. A native and lifelong resident of Colorado County, she was born June 6, 1922 in Eagle Lake, Tx. to Lillie Estelle and Sam Austin. She graduated fourth in the Eagle Lake High School class of 1940. Erline immediately went to work for Southern Union Gas Company in Eagle Lake.
On June 23, 1943 she and Alfred H Reuther were united in marriage in the Mentz Catholic Church in Mentz. The couple divorced in 1965. Erline worked at Sealy High School as a Principal's secretary for four years. She married Jack Listowski March 23, 1969 in Columbus, Ohio. The came to Eagle Lake shortly afterward and operated Jack's Restaurant for eight years before selling the business to Fred Broesches. They enjoyed retirement from April to the sudden death of Jack December 27, 1981.
Erline attended the First Baptist Church in Eagle Lake and while at Deer Creek she loved their services with all the churches in Wimberly. She loved God.
Last rites were held at Lakeside Cemetery , Eagle Lake, Tx., at a graveside service with Stan Warfield officiating.
Leaving to mourn the loss of her were a daughter, Kathy Shaw and son-in-law Thomas Shaw; granddaughter, Chelsey Rae Jankowiak all of Fischer, Texas; brothers, Kenneth Austin, Larry Austin and wife Carolyn, Gene Austin and Mrs. Carl W. Austin and her dear sister, Dorothy Austin of Eagle Lake. Also her precious nieces Denice Austin, Peggy Debolt, Patrice Roper, Gail Austin, Pamela Hengst and nephews Duane Austin, David Austin, Aaron Austin; great nieces and nephews, Kaylee JAnow, Haley Debolt, Kirstin Roper, Kory Janow, Ryand Debolt, Hunter Roper, Joy Hengst, Dean Hengst and Jenny, Casey Gates and Brady Riddle
