Kenneth Austin

Eagle Lake

On Thursday January 5, 2023 Kenneth Allred Austin passed away. He was 87 years old. Kenny was born January 15, 1935 to Samual and Lillie Estelle Barker Austin in Eagle Lake.

Kenny help run Austin Grocery with his brothers. He also ran Austin Amusement with his brother Larry. Austin Grocery was his passion. He enjoyed visiting with people in town. There were many funny stories told there.

Kenny also was a Big Dallas Cowboy fan. He yelled at the tv when they were losing but was really happy when they were winning.

Kenny and Gladys loved to get away and go to Port O’Connor and fish with friends. They also enjoyed going to Las Vegas and Coushatta to gamble and see the shows.

Kenny was preceded in death by his wife Gladys, daughter Kimberly, Father, Mother, baby sister Carolyn, brother Carl Austin, sister Erline Listowski, sister Dorothy Austin, sister in law Jo Ann Austin. Nephews Avery Austin, Dustin Hengst, Darrell Austin and David Austin.

Kenny was survived by Peggy his daughter, her husband Mike and his grandkids Ryan and Haley. Patrice his daughter and his grandkids Kirstin, her husband Devin, their daughter Reese and  Hunter, his girlfriend Melissa. His brothers Gene Austin, Larry Austin and wife Carolyn Austin, sister in law Judy Austin.

Nieces and Nephews Gail, Pam, Kathy husband Thomas, Denice, Duane wife Dianna, Aaron wife Nina. Great nieces and Nephews Brady wife Shawnna, Cacie husband Mike, Dean wife Jenny, Joy, Chelsey, Kory wife Ana, Kaylee, Alex and Abby.

Kenny had the best caregivers. We appreciate all they did for him.

Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Lakeside Cemetery.
