In Loving Memory of Zaiden Joseph Hernandez
November 30, 2008-April 6, 2025
Zaiden Joseph Hernandez was born on November 30, 2008, to Michael and Elysia Hernandez at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus, Texas. From the very beginning, Zaiden brought light and joy into the lives of those around him.
Zaiden grew up in the close-nit towns of Garwood and Eagle Lake, Texas, where he was deeply loved by family, friends, and neighbors. He began his educational journey at Eagle Lake Primary School, and continued through Rice Consolidated Junior High, and was a proud sophomore at Rice Consolidated High School at the time of his passing.
Zaiden was known for his gentle spirit, quiet strength, and warm heart. As the only son among his siblings, he shared a special and protective bond with his beloved sisters- Zaila, Zyriah, and Ziya. Their connection was unbreakable, filled with shared laughter, inside jokes, and unconditional love. He was also very close to his cousins and extended family, always finding joy in being surrounded by those he loved.
Zaiden had many passions. He loved playing basketball, gaming on his PC, fishing with his dad, and had a growing interest in cars-especially fast ones. He often lit up conversations with his curiosity and enthusiasm. As a child, Zaiden had a spark that made him unforgettable. Whether it was his infectious smile, his sense of humor, or his ability to lift someone's spirits without saying a word. Zaiden had a way of making everyone feel special.
Though his time with us was far too short, Zaiden's impact was profound. He will be remembered not just for the life he lived, but for the love he gave so freely. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and cherished him-as a son, a brother, a cousin, a friend, and a bright light in our lives.
Zaiden was preceded in death by his uncle Benjamin Cabrera, his cousin, Alyssia Sosa and his grandparents John and Laurie Walker.
He is survived by his loving parents, Michael and Elysia Hernandez, his sisters Zaila, Zyriah, and Ziya, his first niece Leilani Faeth, his grandparents, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, classmates, educators, and friends who will carry his memory forward with love and pride.
We find comfort in knowing that Zaiden's spirit will continue to shine through those whose lives he touched. He will never be forgotten. #LLB
